Laura Reasons and Adam Prom Join Chicago Office

CHICAGO, February 7, 2018 – DiCello Levitt LLC, a national plaintiffs’ law firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of two experienced litigators to its Chicago office. Laura Reasons joins the firm as senior counsel and Adam Prom as an associate. Ms. Reasons will also serve as head of DLC’s new Labor and Employment Law practice group.

Laura Reasons has over a decade of experience as a labor and employment attorney in matters ranging from workplace discrimination matters to counseling on compliance and best practices. Having represented companies in collective and class action lawsuits under the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage and hour laws, Reasons’ experience spans multiple industries, including healthcare and hospitality.

“I always knew I would eventually join the plaintiffs’ bar,” said Reasons. “My diverse experience representing employers has given me a unique perspective that will translate well to pursuing justice for individual claimants. I’m excited to help lead the firm’s burgeoning nationwide wage and hour litigation practice.”

Before joining private practice, Reasons served as a judicial extern to the Honorable George W. Lindberg of the Northern District of Illinois. She also has a history of performing pro bono work and community service. Throughout her career, she has served as a Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) fellow at Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, having previously served on the organization’s young professionals board. She has also represented individuals in immigration cases pro bono, including asylum seekers who were persecuted in their home countries for their sexual orientation and political party affiliation, DACA applicants and incarcerated individuals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Laura to DiCello Levitt,” said Adam Levitt, co-founding partner. “I can’t imagine a better fit in terms of what we are working to build at this firm. Laura’s wage and hour experience, combined with our unmatched litigation and trial pedigree, will open new opportunities to serve our clients.”

Reasons is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and the Chicago-Kent College of Law.

Adam Prom brings extensive experience litigating consumer class actions. Beyond his frequent trial work in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division, Prom’s practice is focused on representing plaintiffs in complex litigation in federal courts throughout the country. He has been deeply involved in nationwide class actions regarding defective appliances and vehicles, where he played a key role in motion practice regarding plaintiffs’ expert witnesses, class certification, and summary judgment.

“I’ve focused my career on helping people,” said Prom. “I’m continually inspired to be a champion for people who do not have a voice, or who have been otherwise denied access to the courts. DiCello Levitt is a one-of-a-kind plaintiffs’ firm, and I look forward to working with the firm’s quickly expanding litigation teams to help consumers combat fraudulent behavior and unsafe products, bringing much-needed relief to injured parties all over the country.”

Mark DiCello, another DLC co-founding partner, added that Adam’s passion for consumer advocacy made him “a fantastic addition to our growing firm. His experience will greatly benefit the types of people we routinely represent in class action and mass tort cases.”

Prom has demonstrated a commitment to serving underrepresented communities, volunteering as a mentor for high school students at the Legal Prep Charter Academy, a free, open-enrollment public high school in the West Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago. He is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he was a Burke Scholar, and The University of Texas School of Law where he earned National Order of the Barristers distinction.
