After Initially Being Given the Wrong Ashes by Crematorium, Family Discovered the Body of their Infant Son Was Decomposing in the Home of Its Owners

New developments add horror to the grief of clients Chris Parham and LaQuanda Brown, who have been mourning the recent loss of their two-month-old son, Coi’Seir

WHITE PLAINS, Maryland — June 4, 2025

Chris Parham and LaQuanda Brown, mourning the loss of their two-month-old son, Coi’Seir, have learned that Heaven Bound Cremation Services in White Plains, Maryland not only provided them with the wrong ashes, but left their son’s body to decompose in its owners’ residence, still wearing the clothes he wore at his funeral.

Heaven Bound had its license suspended in January, after state health inspectors reportedly found at least 18 bodies inside its facilities that had not been cremated, but instead were being stored in boxes and bags without proper cooling for almost a year.

Parham and Brown had entrusted Stewart Funeral Home in Washington, D.C., with their son’s cremation, and are uncertain of how his body ended up with the owners of Heaven Bound.

The family is suing Stewart Funeral Home, Heaven Bound, and its owners for $10 million each, while also calling for criminal charges.

Parham and Brown’s attorney and DiCello Levitt Partner, Sara Aguiñiga, discussed the new horrors of this case with Washington’s Fox 5.
