Diandra “Fu” Debrosse Zimmermann Receives Black Leadership Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal®

Jan 09, 2023

Diandra “Fu” Debrosse Zimmermann has received a Black Leadership Award from Profiles in Diversity Journal®. The Black Leadership Award recipients are people from around the world who reflect a commitment to excellence, a passion for mentoring and advocating for the next generation, and an ongoing involvement with the larger community. This is only the third class of leaders recognized.

In her answers to questions about blazing trails and serving the community, Fu described the best piece of advice she ever received. Her grandma taught her at an early age, “You’re the answer.” It taught Fu to take responsibility of her own actions. In doing so, it has helped her to blaze trails through accountability.

Nationally recognized as a powerhouse in mass torts, class actions, products liability, workplace discrimination, and sexual assault claims, Fu has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in client damages from defective medical devices or drugs, environmental contamination, corporate misconduct, and civil rights abuse.

Managing partner of DiCello Levitt’s Birmingham office and Co-Chair of the firm’s Mass Tort division, Fu is also a member of the firm’s Public Client, Environmental, Personal Injury, Civil Rights, and Trial practice groups. Fu holds prominent leadership positions in several multidistrict litigations, including Co-Lead Counsel, and serves on numerous plaintiffs’ executive and steering committees in national MDLs, in addition to representing municipalities.  Fu is a founding member of Shades of Mass, an organization dedicated to encouraging the appointment of attorneys of color in national mass tort actions.
