Privacy/Data Breach Practice Group and Partner Amy E. Keller Earn Top Awards

CHICAGO – National litigation firm DiCello Levitt Gutzler is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected as Privacy/Data Breach Practice Group of the Year by The National Law Journal, as part of its 2020 Elite Trial Lawyers Awards program. The Elite Trial Lawyer Awards recognize U.S. attorneys and law firms that have provided cutting-edge representation and achieved major wins on behalf of plaintiffs. Accepting the award were firm Co-Founder Adam Levitt, recognized as a “pioneer” in technology litigation, and Partner Amy Keller.

Amy also received the “Elite Women of the Plaintiffs’ Bar” award. This recognition category celebrates women lawyers who have consistently excelled in high-stakes matters on behalf of plaintiffs throughout their careers and within the last year. In her acceptance speech, Amy discussed the importance of trial lawyers in defending individual civil liberties, calling them the “last line of defense” to protecting constitutional norms.

The firm was also a finalist in the Products Liability and Civil Rights categories. A formal awards ceremony took place at the National Trial Lawyers Summit on January 20 in Miami, at which time winners in each category were announced.

Privacy/Data Breach Practice Group
The firm’s Privacy/Data Breach Group is part of its Technology Law practice. It is led by partner, Amy Keller, who, at just 36, is already one of the most respected technology litigators in the country, establishing herself as a preeminent data breach and cybersecurity attorney.

The firm’s attorneys have successfully led—and are presently leading—many large class and multidistrict actions, including against industry titans such as Apple, Intel, Amazon, General Motors, Marriott, and Equifax, and representing businesses and investors in arbitrations and litigation in multiple courts. In the past year, Amy served as Co-Lead Counsel in the landmark settlement in the Equifax data breach matter, securing a $1.5-billion settlement on behalf of nearly 150 million consumers. In addition, Amy is currently serving as Consumer Plaintiff’s Co-Lead Counsel in a much-publicized data breach MDL against Marriott, the world’s largest hotel chain.
