As one of the attorneys spearheading the class action litigation arising from the massive Equifax data breach, Adam Levitt was quoted in the article, “Lawyers Begin Move to Corral Equifax Class Suits Into MDL,” published in The National Law Journal on September 13, 2017. Highlighting plaintiffs’ claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Levitt notes that the FCRA “requires companies like Equifax to protect customer data — including Social Security numbers, birthdates, addresses and driver’s license numbers. That is, Equifax is prohibited from furnishing this extremely sensitive information to third parties without consent.”
