Overview

As DiCello Levitt’s Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Ranck oversees the firm’s financial strategy, planning, and operations, working alongside firm leadership to ensure that the firm’s financial structure and resources support its mission to deliver exceptional results for clients. Drawing on his extensive background in finance, Andrew applies his expertise in long-term financial planning, debt management, and strategic investment to drive growth and operational efficiency across the firm. He plays a critical role in guiding the firm’s financial decisions, ensuring that resources are allocated to meet current needs and long-term goals.

Prior to joining DiCello Levitt, Andrew spent years developing financial strategies for large public and private institutions. He served as a senior vice president in the investments group at Citi Private Bank, working with family offices, institutions, and ultra-high-net-worth investors, providing strategic and tactical investment advice. As chief economist and director of bonds for the State of Illinois, he managed complex financial planning and public credit initiatives, including efforts that led to Illinois’ first credit upgrade in 20 years. Andrew’s work included supporting the issuance of state bonds, advising the state pension fund, and serving on the investment advisory committee for the state’s prepaid college fund. His role involved balancing short-term financial needs with long-term fiscal sustainability, a mindset he continues to bring to his work at DiCello Levitt, where he helps ensure that the firm’s financial health supports its clients and growth objectives.

Before that, Andrew underwrote over $1 billion in credits supporting economic development and public private partnerships for the City of Chicago. Earlier in his career, Andrew worked for a national financial firm in their investment banking analytics group. He has also been an adviser to venture debt and private credit funds and has worked as an adjunct professor at Adler University teaching master’s level public finance courses.

Outside of his professional work, Andrew is an active volunteer at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, where he supports the school’s community by leading tours for prospective families, organizing book drives, and participating in events designed to provide resources for students.
