Overview

A class action lawsuit has been filed against Humana, Inc. (“Humana” or the “Company”) (NYSE: HUM) and certain of the Company’s current senior executive officers alleging violations of the federal securities laws.  The Humana class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all persons and entities who purchased or otherwise acquired Humana common stock between July 27, 2022, and January 24, 2024, both dates inclusive (the “Class Period”).  Investors have until August 2, 2024, to seek appointment as lead plaintiff of the Humana class action lawsuit.

Humana offers individual Medicare plans (approximately 70% of the Company’s retail revenues), group Medicare plans (approximately 8% of the Company’s retail revenues), commercially fully insured plans, and specialty medical benefit plans.

The Humana class action lawsuit alleges that Defendants, throughout the Class Period, made materially false and/or misleading statements, as well as failed to disclose material adverse facts, about the Company’s business and operations.  Specifically, Defendants downplayed pressures on the Company’s adjusted EPS resulting from increased medical costs associated with pent-up demand for healthcare procedures (especially as COVID concerns abated) which, contrary to the Company’s assurances, resulted in increased utilization rates and costs.

As a result of Defendants’ wrongful acts and omissions, and the significant decline in the market value of the Company’s common stock pursuant to the revelation of the fraud, investors have suffered significant damages.
