Overview
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Trip.com Group Limited (“Trip.com” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ : TCOM) and certain of the Company’s senior executive officers alleging violations of the federal securities laws. The Trip.com lawsuit is brought on behalf of all persons and entities who purchased or otherwise acquired Trip.com securities between April 30, 2024, and January 13, 2026, inclusive (the “Class Period”). Investors have until May 11, 2026, to seek appointment as lead plaintiff of the Trip.com class action lawsuit.
Tripm.com is a global online travel service provider. The Trip.com lawsuit alleges that throughout the Class Period, the Company represented that it could face adverse effects from anti-monopoly laws, while allegedly downplaying the significant and ongoing risk of enforcement stemming from its dominant market position and alleged monopolistic conduct.
The complaint alleges that these statements were materially false and misleading because Trip.com failed to disclose that it was already exposed to heightened regulatory scrutiny and enforcement risk under China’s anti-monopoly regime.
The truth was revealed on January 14, 2026, when Bloomberg published an article entitled “China Starts Antitrust Probe of Trip.com Ahead of Travel Peak.” The article revealed that Chinese regulators had launched an antitrust investigation into Trip.com, with regulators accusing the Company “of abusing its market position and engaging in monopolistic practices.” On this news, the price of Trip.com ADSs fell $12.90 per ADS, or 17%, to close at $62.78 per ADS on January 14, 2026.
