DeMato Brings 20+ Years of Experience, Joins Firm as Partner

NEW YORK – May 19, 2025 – Marisa DeMato, a nationally recognized securities litigator dedicated to protecting the investments of working families, public pension funds, and institutional investors, has joined DiCello Levitt’s Securities Practice Group in New York as a partner.

DeMato has more than two decades of experience in complex securities litigation and advises leading public and Taft-Hartley pension funds as well as other institutional investors in the United States and Canada. Throughout her career, she has played a central role in groundbreaking shareholder litigation, securing significant settlements and implementing critical corporate governance reforms.

“We’re excited to add Marisa as our newest partner in our industry-leading Securities Practice Group. She’s a recognized trailblazer in this arena, with a proven track record of success, as well as being a leading advocate for the inclusion and elevation of women and minorities in the plaintiffs’ securities bar,” said DiCello Levitt Founding Partner Adam Levitt.

“Marisa is one of the most highly regarded securities and shareholder litigation attorneys in the country, and we’re delighted to welcome her to the firm,” added DiCello Levitt Founding Partner Mark DiCello. “She’s known for her work protecting the retirement savings of teachers, firefighters, police officers, and building trade workers, and we look forward to partnering with her.”

DeMato is the fourth partner to join the firm this year and joins a growing Securities Practice Group. In February, the practice added Senior Counsel Stephanie Schroder in San Diego.

“DiCello Levitt is a preeminent firm with a top securities litigation practice and platform that will benefit my clients,” DeMato said. “I’m looking forward to diving right in to help hardworking public-sector employees and institutional investors recover losses resulting from corporate malfeasance.”

DeMato earned her JD from the University of Baltimore School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic University.
