Baltimore Bridge Collapse
DiCello Levitt is leading the fight to hold those responsible accountable for a catastrophic bridge collapse that devastated Baltimore, Maryland.

On March 26, 2024, the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after being struck by the cargo ship MV Dali, which lost power while transiting the bridge. The collapse caused multiple fatalities, shut down the Port of Baltimore’s main shipping channel, and triggered a regional economic crisis.
What Happened?
The MV Dali, owned by Grace Ocean Private Limited and managed by Synergy Marine PTE LTD, struck the bridge after experiencing a power failure. The resulting collapse cut off critical access to one of the busiest shipping ports in the United States, halting trade and crippling businesses that depend on port activity for revenue and jobs.
Who Was Affected?
The impact extends far beyond Baltimore. Workers at the port, including longshoremen and contractors, were left without income. Local businesses reliant on shipping and distribution faced devastating financial losses. Critical city property was destroyed, its infrastructure stretched, and its tax revenue depleted, all while it incurred steep costs relating to emergency response and the rebuilding and maintenance of critical services. Families who lost loved ones continue to endure unimaginable grief.
Our Role in the Litigation
We were appointed Co-Lead Counsel for the City of Baltimore, and we are pursuing accountability against the ship’s owner, charterer, operator, and manufacturer, along with other potentially liable parties.
Working with the City’s Law Department and our co-counsel at Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky, we are working to secure full compensation for the City of Baltimore for the harm the MV Dali’s owner and operator caused. Our mission is to make sure the City and its residents are not left to shoulder the staggering costs of this disaster.
