Veteran Litigator Brings Decades of Experience in Mass Tort Strategy and Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation to National Plaintiffs’ Firm

AUSTIN – David Middleman has joined DiCello Levitt as a partner in the national law firm’s Mass Tort Litigation Practice Group. Middleman has represented tens of thousands of plaintiffs in dozens of mass tort litigations across the United States and brings decades of experience identifying, developing, and strategically structuring large-scale pharmaceutical and medical device mass torts.

“David knows the mass tort world inside and out,” said Founding Partner Mark DiCello. “He has spent decades building trusted relationships and developing the judgment to recognize cases that truly matter. He shares our belief that trial‑tested advocacy is essential to holding powerful companies accountable.”

“We’re proud to have built one of the top mass tort practices in the country,” said Founding Partner Adam Levitt. “David brings a rare combination of strategic vision, industry relationships, and experience recognizing mass torts at their earliest stages. His ability to connect cases, firms, and resources meaningfully strengthens our already powerful team and expands what’s possible for our clients.”

Over the course of his career, Middleman has worked on a wide range of mass tort and catastrophic injury matters, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical and medical device litigation. He has helped identify and develop cases involving defective drugs, recalled medical products, asbestos exposure, and other serious injuries, building a reputation as an entrepreneurial leader with deep experience in client intake, case development, and strategic relationships across the plaintiffs’ bar.

“DiCello Levitt has built something special in mass torts, so the chance to join this team was incredibly appealing to me,” Middleman said. “Throughout my career, I’ve believed that when people are hurt by powerful corporations, they need attorneys who know how to level the playing field and fight for them. That’s what this firm does, and I’m excited to be part of it.”

Before joining DiCello Levitt, Middleman built and led a high-volume national practice focused on pharmaceutical and medical device claims. In recent years, he also has advised on litigation funding and portfolio evaluation, further deepening his insight into the business and strategic dimensions of complex litigation.

Middleman earned his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from University of Houston.

DiCello Levitt’s acclaimed Mass Tort Litigation Practice Group represents plaintiffs in mass torts involving defective medical devices, pharmaceutical drugs, cosmetics, environmental contamination, and other harmful corporate misconduct. The group has recovered billions of dollars for clients, secured leadership roles in some of the largest mass injury cases in the country, and continues to lead major litigations nationwide. The practice is co-led by Founding Partner Mark DiCello and Partner Diandra “Fu” Debrosse.
