Firm Recognized for Historic $25 Billion Judgment Against Meta in New Mexico Data Privacy Case

DiCello Levitt has been named among Law360’s Legal Lions of the Week for its role in securing a historic $25 billion judgment against Meta on behalf of the State of New Mexico.

On October 21, a New Mexico federal judge ordered Meta to pay $25 billion after a September 25 jury verdict found that Facebook made false or misleading statements to New Mexico consumers about its collection, protection, sharing, and use of personal information. The jury’s findings also addressed Facebook’s handling of misinformation and hate speech, along with its response to third-party applications following the Cambridge Analytica scandal.

Law360’s recognition highlights the work of DiCello Levitt’s team representing the State of New Mexico led by Corban S. Rhodes, alongside Founding Partner Adam J. Levitt, Partners Amy Keller, Daniel R. Schwartz, J. Gordon Bergstresser, and attorneys Emma Bruder and Rebecca Trickey.
