Recognition Highlights Leadership of the Trial Team in New Mexico Consumer Protection Case

DiCello Levitt Partner Corban S. Rhodes and co-counsel Randi McGinn of McGinn Montoya Love Curry & Sievers have been recognized by The Am Law Litigation Daily as Litigators of the Week for their work securing the landmark $25 billion judgment against Meta Platforms on behalf of the State of New Mexico.

The judgment followed a jury verdict finding nearly 44 million willful violations of New Mexico’s Unfair Practices Act. Jurors found that Facebook made false or misleading statements about how it collected, protected, shared, and used consumers’ personal information.

DiCello Levitt has represented the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office in the litigation since 2021. “We knew that taking this case to trial was the only way to get truly meaningful relief against a company the size of Meta,” Corban told The Am Law Litigation Daily. Reflecting on the historic outcome and the collective efforts that made it possible, Corban added, “I will never forget the feeling of gratitude as I listened to the judge read the verdict aloud.”

Corban S. Rhodes led the firm’s trial team, which included Founding Partner Adam J. Levitt, Partner Amy Keller, Partner Daniel R. Schwartz, Partner J. Gordon Bergstresser, Associate Emma Bruder, Associate Rebecca Trickey, and Paralegal Erin Kerrane.
