Hair Relaxers Causing Cancer
DiCello Levitt leads the nationwide lawsuit seeking justice for women harmed by cancer-causing chemicals in hair straighteners.

For decades, beauty products marketed primarily to Black women contained harmful chemicals with known links to hormone-sensitive cancers. DiCello Levitt is leading nationwide litigation to hold the companies behind these products accountable for the widespread harm they’ve caused.
What’s the Risk?
Hair relaxers and chemical straighteners contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) that interfere with the body’s hormone systems. These products, often used from early childhood through adulthood, have been linked to significantly increased risks of uterine and breast cancer, particularly among Black women.
Uterine Cancer
Recent studies show that frequent users of chemical hair straighteners are more than twice as likely to develop uterine cancer compared to non-users. Black women, who make up the majority of hair relaxer users, are disproportionately affected; they are twice as likely to be diagnosed with uterine cancer and often face worse outcomes due to delayed diagnosis and treatment.
Our Role in the Litigation
DiCello Levitt serves as Plaintiffs’ Co-Lead Counsel representing thousands of women diagnosed with uterine cancer after using these products. We are demanding billions in compensation from the manufacturers that knowingly exposed consumers to dangerous chemicals.
