The New York Law Journal recently named DiCello Levitt and Partner Greg Asciolla as honorees for its 2023 New York Legal Awards. DiCello Levitt was recognized in the “Innovation” category for its creative and inspiring approach to trial strategy, and Greg, managing partner of the firm’s New York office and chair of the Antitrust and Competition Litigation practice, was named a “Distinguished Leader.”
The New York Legal Awards honor attorneys and judges who have made a remarkable difference in the legal profession in New York. Recipients of the Innovation Award are selected for demonstrating an ability to think outside the box and to distinguish their firms in a crowded market in order to attract and retain clients as well as talent.
“New York has no shortage of talented attorneys and formidable firms,” said DiCello Levitt Founding Partner Mark DiCello. “To be selected for the Innovation Award from among such a large pool of forward-thinking firms and people is validation of the hard work that Bobby DiCello is spearheading through the DiCello Levitt Trial Center.”
The DiCello Levitt Trial Center advances a trial-first approach through a proprietary, science-driven system that includes extensive focus grouping, mock trials, and other comprehensive research to help attorneys uncover jury decision-making processes and craft highly refined, persuasive messaging. The insights and strategy that DiCello Levitt has developed through its trial center have resulted in billions of dollars in settlements and outcomes since the firm’s inception, including the recent $102.6 million jury verdict in a class action trial against General Motors as well as litigation concerning the testosterone replacement drug AndroGel, opiate overprescription, police misconduct, and a host of other matters.
The New York Law Journal’s Distinguished Leader Award recognizes attorneys in leadership positions who achieved impressive results in the past year. Greg, who is also co-chair of DiCello Levitt’s diversity, equity, and inclusion committee, earned the distinction for his leadership in numerous complex cases as well as his substantial contributions to the antitrust bar through many state and national organizations. He is also committed to fostering diversity throughout the plaintiffs’ bar, including promoting individuals from historically underrepresented groups for leadership positions in nationwide antitrust multidistrict litigation.
“Greg Asciolla is well deserving of this award for his outstanding leadership in and out of the courtroom,” said Founding Partner Adam Levitt. “We are also honored to receive recognition for DiCello Levitt’s innovation in trial science. Both of these awards further demonstrate that the firm’s strategic growth—which has included the addition of Greg and the substantial expansion of our antitrust practice in early 2022 and beyond, and, most recently, the expansion of our securities litigation group—continues to strengthen our ability to secure exceptional outcomes for our clients.”
Award winners will be recognized at the New York Legal Awards ceremony October 4 at Pier Sixty, located at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.
