Sex Trafficking and Abuse by Fashion Mogul

On June 11, 2020, 57 women filed a landmark Second Amended Complaint against Peter Nygard and his privately held companies, alleging an international sex trafficking enterprise that exploited hundreds. Since then, more survivors—now totaling 130—have come forward to share their experiences of abuse at the hands of Nygard and his network of enablers.

What Happened?

For decades, Nygard wielded his wealth and influence to lure women and girls—many from vulnerable backgrounds—into a system of exploitation. Survivors allege that he and his associates used force, fraud, and coercion to sexually assault dozens of victims and then maintain control through false promises of modeling opportunities while subjecting victims to intimidation, blackmail, and abuse.

When survivors resisted or spoke out, Nygard retaliated with threats, smear campaigns, or payoffs to secure false statements and silence the truth.

Who Was Affected?

The survivors include women and minors from across the globe. Their stories share a common thread of being trapped, controlled, and violated by a powerful figure who believed he was untouchable.

Our Role in the Litigation

DiCello Levitt filed this case to expose and dismantle Nygard’s trafficking enterprise. Just six months later, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) indicted him on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, leading to his arrest and the raid of multiple properties.

Our work continues as we pursue accountability not only from Nygard but also from the companies and enablers who perpetrated abuse themselves and allowed Nygard’s scheme to continue.
